Hi.
I am new to this list and trying to get answer to my connection problem. I
tried to look through the arhives unsuccessfully to get answer to my
     question.

I am connecting to my work using VPN from my home. I have
w2k on my client laptop at home. When I connect to my work
using VPN, I am successfull in starting VNC sessions to any of the
VNC servers at work running on Linux. BUT when I try to connect
to my PC(w2k) desktop at work running the VNC server, I am not able
to go past the password prompt screen. With RealVNC when I try to connect,
it asks me for the password and when I type in the password, it comes
back saying "The connection closed unexpectedly". When I try using
TightVNC, it comes back saying "connection closed".

To make matters more complicated, today I was at my Honda Dealership
getting my car repaired. The dealer has wireless access for customers
waiting for the car to get fixed. When connected to internet from there,
I was able to use the same laptop and VPN software to connect
to work and "SUCCESSFULLY" start the VPN session to my Desktop PC.
    No problems at all.

This made me suspicious about the router I am using at home. It is a linksys
WRT54G. I tried updating the firmware and changing any settings that I
thought
could be related but nothing helped. Any pointers on what I need to
do..Thanks.
