I tried the telnet on different ports, and it was never able to connect. I have my router forwarding port 5500 (Listening Mode Port) and port 5900. The problem would seem to be on his end, but we've even gone as far as disabling the firewall on his end all-together, as well as adding 5900, 5500 and 5800 to the "exception list" in norton internet security (as far as I could tell, they were very unclear on what that list was). any ideas?

Thanks,

Jesse,
try to connect to his system via telnet command.

telnet.exe WAN_IP 5900

this is proven way to test if it's possible to establish connection to VNC
server/listening viewer at all.

Best regards,
Yury

Subject: Issues connecting

I have been using VNC for a while now using the "Listening
Mode" to connect
to users in other states. I've been doing this so that we
don't have to
worry about firewalls, etc. I have really had no problems
doing this.
However, I have one of the people who is working for us that
I am having
trouble connecting with.

I have VNC running in service mode on my computer, and He
puts his computer
in Listening mode. He tells me his WAN IP address, and type
it in, but he
never sees my screen. I have done this lots of times with our other
customers, and I have always been able to see their screens.
He has Norton
Security running, but I believe that he's disabled it, but still has
problems. What other problems could there be?

Thanks,
Jesse
