Eve:
One more thing... having the server on a wireless connection can be
difficult at best. There's a lot of anecdotal reports that trying to access
a VNC server on a wireless router doesn't work. I don't know if it would
work any better if they initiated the connection to your viewer.

Only a wireless router this end. Its a small company and some of them are
networked but not the one I am trying to see. Will I have to get in touch
about their firewall? If so is there any advice I can give them?
Many thanks

Do you have a router on either end? And yes, if their IT department is worth
anything, they have a firewall blocking access to their internal network, so
you'll have to have the cooperation of their IT / IS department in order to
connect back to your office.

Hi
Sorry if I sound very un'IT'literate!
VNC has been put on a computer where I used to work. I have installed VNC
viewer and have the correct IP address but it will not let me connect. I
have disabled the firewalls my end, is it a problem their end?
Thanks
Eve
