Yes, RealVNC can be installed as a service. The question is, do you want the SERVER or the VIEWER to start up automagically? Either can be done pretty easily with just about any operating system from Windows to linux to Mac. If you want to start the server, you just install it as a service under Windows, or under linux, there's various ways to put it in there so it starts up automagically.
If you want to start the viewer automagically and connect it to a specific host, that's pretty easy as well. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Philip Ogletree Sent: Thursday, January 19, 2006 3:25 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RealVNC in a Library Hello, I am sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you might be able to answer a question for me? Could RealVNC be used in a library to monitor networked computers to keep 12 through 15 years old from viewing pornography? Or gambling or looking up explosives, etc? Basically could RealVNC be installed on the computers and assuming that they have an operating system that supports it, when the computer boots up, RealVNC starts without having to enter passwords otherwise the kids cold simply reboot the computer to get past the anti-porn measures. If the above is possible what operating systems would allow RealVNC to be run as a service? Thank you Philip _________________________________________________________________ Netscape.
