I have installed VNC4 at home and on my computer at school. At home I am
using a Linksys router. I have also installed the dyndns updater and created
an account there. I have set the port 5900 to be excluded from the firewall
at home. I also forwarded ports 3389 - 5901 TCP from the router setup. I had
been using the gotomyvnc.com website and noticed that it showed "not
responding" for all displays. I ended up going to the "Administration" tab
in the router setup and enabled "remote router access" and set the port to
5900. This is the only way I was able to see that Display 0 was accepting on
port 5900. I also disabled firewall protection on the router. From the home
computer, while running the vnc service I also run the vnc viewer which
prompts me for my password and then goes on to a loop of windows. But when I
try to connect from my computer at school, it says "connection closed
unexpectedly." When I try to connect thru the dyndns service, it says
"connection refused" whether im at home or at school. I also setup the ddns
service in the router to the host name I'm using. Am I setting up the router
incorrectly? I am really at a loss as to what to do.

Thanks!

Monica Arias
