Can I please request a security type be allocated for me to add an
extension to the RFB protocol? I have implemented an encrypted VNC
stream, which I am calling "VeNCrypt".
The VeNCrypt security mechanism is based on Martin Koegler's TLS for
VNC, but with only a single security type required within the initial
hand-shake. If this security type is chosen by the client, a second
round of "server sends list of (sub-)types / client picks one" occurs
before continuing with the TLS as implemnted by Martin. As far as I can
tell, this is exactly what Wez suggested up a couple of months ago -
that was the intention anyway.
