Nate:
It's not clear to me from the history included in this post if the "problem"
machine is hard-wired or wireless. I know that SOME people have posted that
they have problems connecting to a server on a wireless connection, but that
they almost always are able to connect to the same machine via a wired
connection...something about the wireless base not wanting to serve port
5900 for some reason. *shrug* Can you clarify this? If you *are* attempting
to connect to a VNC server on a wireless connection, can you try plugging a
LAN cable in and see whether you are able to connect then?
