I'm afraid there is no remote desktop server for Linux, or at least I have not found one. I had the same problem with performance in VNC and for me the solution was a VNC stream compressor framework called "NX". For the server part I use "Free NX" [FREENX] and for the client part I use the free clients available from No Machine [NM]. I don't dare to go into the specifics how NX actually speeds up everything, but I recognize that bitmap caching has something to do with it. > Any help appreciated, > Andy, Good luck!
