I am using the java client as a standalone now, so to be honest I suppose
there's no reason to use a native mac binary. Storing passwords would be the
only handy feature that the java client lacks. The performance is fine.

I believe the Adderlink IP is developed by RealVNC - it's linked on the
website. I have no idea what they've done to the spec but it won't work
properly with any non-RealVNC client that I've tried. It is fast though -
using the java client, it seems more responsive than any other VNC server
I've used.
