Do you connect to your :0 display, or to a virtual display?
If you connect to a virtual display, you can specify it's size in the
"vncserver" command line that creates that display. This is independent from
your physical :0 display resolution.

I wonder how can you consider as a bug something that seems obvious for a
remote-desktop type program - *exact reproduction*, pixel-by-pixel, of the
screen you are connecting to.
This is exactly what the program *should* do, in my opinion. Scaling can be
only considered an extra feature, and lack of this feature by no means can
be a bug!
