I recently installed the free version of VNC at my office on 2 machines (win
2k pro). After setting up a vpn through my firewall I can connect in from
home using my laptop (win 2k pro). When I set up a friend to be able to
connect into one of the machines from home we ran into a problem. Every
time they run the VNC viewer and try to connect to their office machine they
get an Authentication Failed error. Their home machine is Win XP Home and
they have disabled the fast user switching, but still can not connect to the
server at the office. Pings to the machine work fine. Any Ideas? Is there
any other setting on XP that may be interfering with the authentication
process?
