It is easy to change the default twm to gnome-session or kde.
If you want to use the gnome-session, you can edit the xstartup file.
Change the "twm&" to "exec gnome-session" to start the gnome
desktop. But you must start the vncserver from another virtual terminal
of the X already started in.

2006/6/26, Ed Peschko <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
hey all,

Another question -

Is it possible to make realvnc have a different window manager than the default?

I am trying to automate a X11 GUI through window events (via the X11::GUITest
module
for perl)

However, the current window manager has the un-automation-friendly habit of
needing
to actually click a button to have the gui show up on the screen. Hence, when I
try to
run any script that controls the GUI, the window manager is 'stuck' waiting for
my
mouse click to activate the window.

So - is there another window manager available for realvnc, and if so, how
do you use it?

Thanks much,

Ed
