I have VNC running on an XP Pro machine and HXP Home edition. Until last
week I was able to connect between the two machines without any problem. I
noticed that my XP Home machine ran a Windows update and right after that is
when I was unable to connect from Pro to Home.

While sitting at the Home machine last evening, a pop up notified me that a
particular IP Address with their port listing shown, was attempting to
connect. Since I am the only person who would try to connect to that
machine, I denied entry (of course!) and then went looking to see who the IP
address belonged to.

I then noticed that VNC had selected that approval be given by any user who
is logged in before establishing an incoming connection. Prior to last week
those radio buttons were not selected. I have a password on the connection
but am now curious as to the attempt to gain entry last night and am
wondering if my password is enough security.

Does anyone out there have some input on all of this?

Cheers!
