Bruno, VNC Free Edition 4.1.2 fixes a security issue in VNC 4.1 & 4.1.1.
No versions of VNC have ever used plain-text password authentication - VNC Free Edition uses a challenge-response scheme and VNC Enterprise & Personal Editions normally exchange authentication information over a secure channel.
