I did a serach on the list, and didn't find anything about this so I hope that someone here can assist me with my problem. I think I am able to replicate the problem in fact.
I have a Fedora Core 5 box (an old laptop) running Gnome. that I use to VNC to a headless Win2k3 server that I have to do winblows stuff. I am using the vncviewer that comes with FC5. I have my screensaver set to kick on after 10 minutes of inactivity on both the windows and Gnome. Please note that I also run the vncviewer in fullscreen mode most of the time, and then F8 to go to GAIM while chatting with friends. I have noticed that when I walk away from the computer and come back and this only happens if I leave my VNCViewer on fullscreen mode, my screensaver on the windows box has kicked in but the one on Gnome doesnt seem to have (perhaps it has, but doesn't know how to handle the VNCVIEWER being fullscreen). So I move my mouse, I get the "CTRL-ALT-DEL" window on the Winblows box and I click F8 to get the menu, the menu comes up but I cannot click anything. >From this point on, my mouse is on the fritz and I can move the mouse around, >but I cannot actually click on anything. It wont interact with Gnome at all, >so effectively I am stuck in the VNC session without any means of getting out >of it, or getting into the windows box. I also cannot move things around in >Windows when this happens. Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? How I can get out of it other than ensuring I get out of full screen mode before realizing oh no, I haven't typed for 10 minutes and my box is locked up again. Effectively I have to exit Gnome and go back in for it to fix itself. Any help is appreciated! _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
