I was in need of remotely manipulating a Windows 2000 system from an XP system and downloaded VNC for the first time this evening. I installed the latest free version of all of my systems and it seems to work exceptionally well between two systems that are running Windows XP. On the other hand, I am having severe problems with a Windows XP to Windows 2000 system. The XP systems is running the VNC client and the Win2000 system is running the VNC server. I get an error message stating that the "Connection was reset by peer 10054". It appears that the VNC server on the Win2000 system is resetting the connection. This problem only occurs when I am moving a large amount of data across the connection. For example, if I click on a large JPG image, the problem will quite frequently occur while the image is being rendered. Is anyone familar with this problem? I have no problem with XP to XP operability, the problem is just XP to Win2000.
