Jose, Firstly, if you're really using version 4.1, you should upgrade to 4.1.2 immediately to secure your system against the security issue discovered in 4.1 & 4.1.1 in May.
The most likely cause of strange-looking fonts is that your VNC X server's font path differs from the one your normal console X server is set to. You can query the console server's font path & then re-run your VNC server specifying that & you should find that things look more sane.
