Hi all - just thought this might be of interest to somebody.

ev2vnc is a Linux utility which takes low-level USB events from keyboards and mice, converts them to VNC events and sends them to a VNC server, which may be on the same machine or elsewhere. It's similar in some ways to x2vnc, but doesn't need to involve any current X servers running on the local machine.

This probably has a very limited range of useful applications, but it lets you do fun stuff like sending the same events to multiple different VNC servers, or creating small embedded Linux devices which just provide networked keyboards and mice to VNC sessions running elsewhere...

It's at a very early stage, but in the hope it may form a useful part of the VNC toolkit, we've uploaded it to Sourceforge.
