On my home network I have been mapping drives between my laptop and pc for
several months with no problems. Both are using windows xp sp2.
I've installed the VNC server on the PC and the viewer on my laptop. Shortly
after installing vnc (before doing anything else I haven't done before) I
have lost the ability to map drives to my PC. I get one of two error
messages
"The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error
has occurred:
The specified network name is no longer available."
or
"The network path \\server\share could not be found"
I can no longer ping the pc by it's IP or network name, yet VNC can still
connect. Does anyone have any idea why this might be?
