Kroum, Current VNC releases are built against the XFree86 X server. Recent versions of Xorg, as used by Fedora Core 6, have changed the locations of a few files, although I'm not sure why. You can tell vncserver where to find the RGB_DB file by starting it with the "-co" option:
vncserver -co /path/to/my/X11/rgb Alternatively, you can always create a symlink from the old location to the new one. You'll probably want to configure VNC server to use the X11 font server, too, with -fp: vncserver -co /path/to/my/X11/rgb -fp unix:/7100 Cheers, Wez @ RealVNC Ltd > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kroum Antov > Sent: 27 February 2007 22:48 > To: vnc-list@realvnc.com > Subject: vncserver - doesn work with Fedora core 6 > > Does it work with Fedora Core 6? > > When i run the vncserver there is error and the server is not running. > Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb' > > Xvnc Enterprise Edition E4.2.9 - built Feb 14 2007 15:26:16 > Copyright (C) 2002-2007 RealVNC Ltd. > See http://www.realvnc.com for information on VNC. > Underlying X server release 40201000, The XFree86 Project, Inc > > Tue Feb 27 14:02:10 2007 > vncext: VNC extension running! > vncext: created VNC server for screen 0 > TcpListener: listening on IPv4, port 5901 > TcpListener: listening on IPv4, port 5801 > error opening security policy > file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy > Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/, > removing from list! > Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/, > removing from list! > Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/, > removing from list! > Could not init font path element > /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing > from list! > Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/, > removing from list! > Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/, > removing from list! > > Fatal server error: > could not open default font 'fixed' > > What is the solution? > > Thanks, > Kroum Antov > _______________________________________________ > VNC-List mailing list > VNC-List@realvnc.com > To remove yourself from the list visit: > http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list VNC-List@realvnc.com To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
