It is the one provided with the vnc4server debian package, here you have the list:

dpkg -l |grep vnc
ii vnc4-common 4.1.1+X4.3.0-21 Virtual network computing server software ii vnc4server 4.1.1+X4.3.0-21 Virtual network computing server software

dpkg -L vnc4server | grep vnc.so
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libvnc.so

The system is all ok, gdm simply restart the X without problems.

Hi Linos,

Are you using the standard VNC Free Edition 4.1.2 module for XFree86/Xorg,
or one provided with the Debian distribution?

When the Xorg server locks up, is the entire system locked up, or just the X
server? Is it recoverable, by killing & restarting the process?

Cheers,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd

Subject: Native Display Session Exiting

Hello, i am using vnc to access many remote desktops but i have a problem, all my desktops use Debian Etch, vnc 4.1.1 and xorg 7.1.0, i have the same problem with many different drivers, nvidia, i810, sis, etc.., in the Xorg log i have this message (posted after) on startup and i can connect to 5900 port without problem with vncviewer on other machine but when i exits vncviewer on the client, the Xorg server locks up and exists in the server side without any notice in the log, it simply closes it, the worst it is that i cant reproduce the problem ever, but i have it many many times.

(II) LoadModule: "vnc"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libvnc.so
(II) Module vnc: vendor="RealVNC Ltd"
         compiled for 4.3.0, module version = 1.0.0
         Module class: XFree86 Server Extension
ABI class: XFree86 Server Extension, version 0.2
(II) Loading extension VNC

Regards,
Miguel Angel.
