I'm sorry to use this list for what follows, but in going to the RealVNC website, I couldn't find any other convenient way to get this message to whoever should see it.
I've been subscribed to this list for a year or so, getting each message as it comes across the wire. At approximately 3:30 p.m. CDT here in Iowa on Tuesday, May 15th, I ceased receiving any such messages. Not only that, all of us employed by the Wapello school district were cut off from all outside email at that time. We are not on any blacklist as far as I can tell. What happened on Tuesday we have had happen before. A quick background: Here in Iowa, there are regional agencies that assist the local schools in a variety of ways, including technology. Our home region of #16 has provided for years mail filtering via a Symantec Gateway. I'd adjust our DNS records to route our mail through this gateway, we would use it for 2-3 months, and then we'd be shut off with no external email coming in. I'd readjust our DNS records, #16 would twiddle with whatever settings needed on the Symantec box, and we'd get our accumulation of email, both good and bad, delivered to us. In February of this year, getting tired of all of the junk hitting our local mail server and our In boxes, and knowing the problems we'd had with region #16's unit, I made an arrangement to use the Barracuda filtering device run by the neighboring region, #15. All was well with this set up until Tuesday afternoon. By 9:30 Tuesday evening, I'd determined it was a repeat of our previous issue and reset our DNS values once more so that our mail should be routing directly to us, but not all is happening as it should. First and foremost, there is legitimate mail that is no longer coming in like the messages from this list to me. Some mail is reaching us but not all, and certainly not the backlog of mail we should have somewhere. What I need of the good folks at RealVNC who maintain this list is some kind of log file that will show when the postings to the list stopped reaching me, that they are still not reaching me, and if there is some path or reason that can be divined for this blockage. Again, my apologies for cluttering this forum with this kind of request, but I am desperate and didn't know where else to turn.
