FYI, I've tried tightvnc, which is a default package with Mandriva 2007
Spring.  I've tried kwrite within it without any problem of Shift+arrow
keys.

     I had tried to install RealVNC but so far I'm unable to make it work.
So, not very conclusive, huh?
