Chris,

suid-root installation is required for certain advanced features such as PAM
authentication support to operate correctly.  VNC Enterprise Edition will
nonetheless operate without suid-root privileges, albeit with reduced
functionality, on most systems.

Which platform are you trialing VNC Enterprise Edition on?
