I guess that's it, yes - not sure what the default for loopback
connections is nowadays.  In 3.3 there was an "Enable loopback" option,
in TightVNC (which is what I use) there's both an "Enable loopback" and
a further "Loopback only" setting.  The documentation doesn't appear to
cover whether this'll work by default or not - it's probably worth
testing it first if you're using a Windows system.
