Environment: I have a dozen or so users with RealVNC Free Edition 4.1.3 on Windows XP SP2 machines.
Goal: I'm trying to grant them the ability to set their own VNC password with giving them local administrator privileges to the Windows XP SP2 host, so I instructed the users to right click on the VNC icon in the system tray, select Options, but the users receive the following message and are unable to proceed. Error: "You do not have sufficient access rights to run the VNC Configuration applet" Here's what I've tried to make it work. 1. Added users with write permission to c:\program files\realvnc\vnc" folder. 2. Added users with Full Control permission to "HKLM\Software\RealVNC\VNC" key. 3. Added users to RealVNC Service with permission to Start,Stop,Pause service. 4. Finally, I added users to local "Power Users" group. We're still getting the error message when users attempt to change their own password. Any ideas? Brandon S.
