Hi all
Though I am a newcomer I know that some suggestions have already been
done on how to reduce amount of messages on the list i.e. create
different lists concerning differents aspects of VNC.
Maybe I have a small simple suggestion concerning the way we handle
technical questions :
Once a question is launched , the rule could be to respond privately
to the person who has a problem until he has solved it.
Ask him to summarise once he has got his problem solved : to do so
he sends a mail to the entire list with the header "summary" i.e.
"summary : how to compile VNC "
This is very usual in forums.
This could be a duty for the people who has got a successful
response to her/his problem to summarize clearly the solution and so to
build a kind of "how to..." database which could avoid som many
redundant questions/responses
It's also a way to contribute in an useful way : even if not a
developer .
And also it is of a great help to search in the FAQ all the mail
headers beginning with the "summary" keyword because we know that it
contains a working and explained solution...
I apologize if this mail creates also noise on the list
