i do not know if this helps, but i seem to remember that if during the login
phase you switch resolutions then the vncviewer will be disconnected.
so say on your real windows machine you have the login screen running at 1024xwhatever
and after you log in the user has it set to 1200xwhatever then vnc connection will be
lost!
the same is true if the resolution stays the same across the login but the color depth
is changed
from lets say 16 bit to 24 bit colours. (which is very hard to see!).
