I'm not able to start the Xvnc server thr' -inetd
option.
I have latest version of AT&T unix version of Xvnc on
Red Hat.
I am new to Linux. I have blindly copied the settings
as given in http://www.dei.isep.ipp.pt/~andre
I have following settings in /etc/services
vnc-640x480x8 5950/tcp
vnc-800x600x8 5951/tcp
vnc-800x600x16 5952/tcp
& in /etc/inetd.conf I have
vnc-640x480x8 stream tcp nowait nobody /root/bin/Xvnc
Xvnc -inetd -broadcast -once -geometry 640x480 -depth
8
vnc-800x600x8 stream tcp nowait nobody /root/bin/Xvnc
Xvnc -inetd -broadcast -once -geometry 800x600 -depth
8
vnc-800x600x16 stream tcp nowait nobody /root/bin/Xvnc
Xvnc -inetd -broadcast -once -geometry 800x600 -depth
16
(I have Xvnc binary in /root/bin)
I restart the machine ( & do nothing ).
Try to connect to the Xvnc server thr' Windows based
viewer giving VNC Server as "servername:5951". The
viewer dialog closes & nothing happens.
I tried to recompile the sources. Still the problem is
there.
I have not compiled the patch given on
http://www.dei.isep.ipp.pt/~andre. I think it is not a
must.
Please help me.
