Hi Wayne: You should modify your "vncserver"-script or your "$HOME/.vnc/xstartup"-script? If you modify only "vncserver" you will have to remove "$HOME/.vnc/xstartup". "vncserver" will then create a new one containing the modifications you made there. If you modify only "$HOME/.vnc/xstartup" nobody else will profit of the modification. Here the modifications I made: Jan 22 15:51 2001 diff -l <Path to GNU software>/bin/vncserver vnc_sun4_sosV_5.5/vncserver Page 1 1c1 < #!<Path to GNU software>/bin/perl --- > #!/usr/bin/perl 38c38 < $vncClasses = "<Path to GNU software>/vnc/classes"; --- > $vncClasses = "/usr/local/vnc/classes"; 45,47c45,46 < "# xsetroot -solid grey\n". < "# xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title \"\$VNCDESKTOP Desktop\" &\n". < "/usr/dt/bin/dtsession\n # No Ampersand". --- > "xsetroot -solid grey\n". > "xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title \"\$VNCDESKTOP Desktop\" &\n". 150,151c149 < # $cmd .= " -fp /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/F3,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/F3bitmaps,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/misc,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi,<Path to Mentor software>/registry/fonts"; < $cmd .= " -fp /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/F3bitmaps,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Type1,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/misc,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi,/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Xt+,<Path to GNU software>/vnc/fonts/mgc"; --- > # $cmd .= " -fp /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/"; 153d150 < $cmd .= " -co /usr/openwin/lib/X11/rgb"; Regards Daniel "Forrest, Wayne" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> am 02.02.2001 05:13:24 Bitte antworten an [EMAIL PROTECTED] An: "'[EMAIL PROTECTED]'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Kopie: (Blindkopie: Daniel Jaime Rattey/E/Rbach/Diehl-Mun/DE) Thema: Solaris 7 CDE [DIG_EXT:Virus checked] [Diehl-Mun: Virus checked] Hi Ive only just started using vnc and have the server running on both WNT and Solaris. When running the Xvnc server on Solaris is there anyway a pc client can display the Solaris Common Desktop Environment? I currently get a single xterm and what looks like the Openwindows interface. regards Wayne Forrest CAD Systems Engineer Australian Submarine Corporation Phone: +61 8 8348 7802 Fax: +61 8 8348 7001 email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send a message with the line: unsubscribe vnc-list to [EMAIL PROTECTED] See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
