Dear friends:
I have an unexpected situation working with VNC. My job is incredebly.
I have a PC (under Windows NT Server Operating System) just in the middle of
the ... AMAZONAS. This PC is used to take information about the weather (but
it is a minor job !!!). Its main job is to take information about the location
of certain animals which have a radio equipment. This equipment transmits data
to my "Investigation Center - a little place lost in the Amazon with only one
PC -" which are collected by the PC and saved in certain files.
This PC is connected to INTERNET by a dedicated satelital line. Every
day, I connect the PC wich I have at my headquarters - a little place, with
only one PC, lost in Africa - to the PC in the Amazonas thru INTERNET and I
take the control of the Amazonas' PC using VNC. Then, I take the files of my
interest and I work on this remote PC (files maintenance, programs reviews,
alerts maintenance adjusting its values and another minor jobs ...)
BUT ..... The last visit to Amazonas' PC (which my man in Brasil did) was a
week ago (an this kind of visit is so expensive to repeat it) and he changed
the password (for security reasons) because I ordered him to do this change.
By a mistake, he didn't use the password which I said and he don't remember
which password use (because he thinks that he used the correct password). Now,
it's impossible to me to connect with my loved PC in the Amazon.
Please, help me !!! What can I do to recover this password ??? I think without
this password I can't connect, but if there is a method to recover this
password I can continue with my investigations... and if there isn't a method
to do it ... I am in a great problem !!!.
WHAT CAN I DO ??? It's impossible to me to send my man another time to the
Amazon's PC because it is so expensive to me (I am not a woman with great
amounts of money !!! I only have a great love for wild life investigation )
and he thinks that the password change wasn't neccesary (he is ungry with me
because he thinks that my order about change had no sense and he thinks he
hasn4t responsability about the wrong change that he did ...). He doesn4t know
so much about security ..... and, NOW, I think he isn4t a good man, but it
doesn't matter. I HAVE THE PROBLEM, my man in the Amazon doesn't travel
without I pay him and my job is stopped for his mistake.
WHAT CAN I DO ??? Please, tell me how can I connect ??? I need the information
which my Amazon's PC has saved in its hard disk !!!
