Hi, I'm trying to run vnc on a dual processor Sparc Station 20. It is
running Red Hat 6.2 for sparc processors. I installed the rpm of vnc
3.3.3-2 sparc from the Red Hat 6.2 powertools cd. The vncviewer seems
to work fine. I can use it to connect to my Windows 98 machines. The
problem seems to be with Xvnc. It starts fine, but when I connect to my
sparc machine, twm comes up, but all the writing and graphics are
scrambled. The letters that can be made out, are displayed backwards.
I tried changing my xstartup to use fvwm2 instead of twm, but that makes
Xvnc core. After trying several things to fix this problem, I
downloaded the source to vnc to compile my own versions. The vncviewer
compiled fine, but I got the following error when trying to compile
Xvnc:

gcc: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations

I downloaded the patch that was on the platform page that somebody used
to get vnc to compile on RH 5.2 sparc. I tried to use the patch command
with it, but it kept saying it couldn't find the files to modify. Maybe
I'm using the patch command improperly?

So, does anybody know what could be causing my graphics to be all
garbled? If not, does somebody know how I can get Xvnc to compile on
box? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve
