I'm not the original author, but this would be useful in my work-place (I'm
a network administer of a 250+ computer 1000+ user network at a local high
school. In order to be able to trouble shoot problems, assist in classes,
and make sure users are not violating there user agreements we have
installed a remote admin program. (we do not use vnc, but the same idea
applies) in order to install this it required one of our give technicians to
go around to every system and run the install from Novell's Zenworks, this
was not altogether difficult, but very time consuming, I know there are ways
that we could have force-ran an install over the entire network, but giving
the machines individual id's with this method would have been impossible, in
reflection, if we had been able to install our remote admin program that
uses the machine name (like vnc) without having to go around an put in
settings, it would have saved a lot of man-hours and a lot of hassle.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but a remote installation specifying password,
settings, and hiding the screen from the users -- Hmmm... That particular
combination of desires disturbs me. Could you describe your intended use?
