Hi list.

I just started using Linux, and I need to know the hard-and-fast way to
startup the server for x-number of users automatically at bootup.

Note, this is just a project right now, so security can be low.

Also, note that I searched and searched the archives and docs, but I can't
get anything to work.

I tried this solution on /etc/rc.d/rc.local:

# VNC server startup
echo -n "Starting VNCServer at :1 for root ..."
/path/to/vncserver :1
echo " Done."
# end

That DOES NOT WORK (and yes I replace that info with mine) as it hangs the
bootup and doesn't start the server to boot!

Someone mentioned enabling xdm, but I don't know what that is.

I'm not asking for Linux lessons, just a way to get this to work FAST.

Remember, security can be low.

Thanks list!

Doug.
