Looks familiar, let me check... Yes! I have as good as a copy of that in
my mailbox.

Ever since I made this tiny modification to the Java viewer
(http://www.workspot.net/~harmen/vnc/) that allowed me to connect
through my ISPs packet filtering firewall, I get mail about VNC and
firewalls at least once a week. So I have been thinking about setting up
a FAQ for this. (Well, actually I tried to write an enhanced viewer, but
that didn't work out see link in sig)

I'm not sure how to go about this though: lots of people haven't got a
clue about proxies, firewalls and networking in general. And I don't
want to advise on how to break a local security policy, unless I trust
they know what they're doing (about 20% of people who mail me work in
the IT department). So maybe I shouldn't make it too easy with a FAQ?
