Hi, I have a bad problem with Java applets running on Windows (Win 98SE, Win 2000, Win XP ...). If the encoding used is RRE, CoRRE, Zlib, Tight I get desktop corruption (a gray bar appears on top left of the desktop and other artifacts) and occasionally it throws a com.ms.com.ComFailException: (0x80004005) Unspecified Error. This can be traced to a call to Image.drawImage() in handleUpdatedPixels(). I read a post from last July with a similar problem and someone replied that it might be the video driver or cursor corruption. IMHO, this is unlikely since I tested on different hardware and it happens everywhere. Does anyone know the cause of this or have any ideas?
