Have you verified that:
1) you can ping across the domains (the client machine can "see" the server
box, and vice-versa)?
2) you have ports 5800- and 5900- open on any firewalls between ethernet
segments?
Just because you can see the PDC/BDC in the other domain doesn't imply that
you've got full routing between segments.
