Hi Kelly,

What's happenin is that when the VNC Service loads at startup it's using the
"Default Settings" password. And if you run VNC in "App Mode", VNC will be
using the password set from the "User Settings" option.

- Simply way is to goto Start -> Programs -> VNC -> Admin Tools -> And click
  on "Show Default Settings".
- In the password box will be your _old_ password. Which it's using when
your
  Win2K box reboots.
- Just click in the Password box, change it, then click Apply, then OK.

If you can't do that, you can take the password setting from:
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL\WinVNC3

and copy the password value into:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default

Hope that's helped!

Regards,
Daniel

I've seen this happen (the original question) many times on one particular
windows 2000 box. It seems that it when we reboot it, it reverts back to
the previous password.

Subject: Password switch?

Hi everyone, just joined the list, and don't know if this has come up in the
past, but has anyone ever had problems with passwords not working for the
VNC login? But the thing is, when I type in the previous password, it
works. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
