Although this is not a pure VNC question I am sure I will find people here who know the answer. I am using a windows client (vncviewer) to open a connection using inetd to an alpha UNIX server. I works just fine and thank you for that great tool.
Yet, I cannot log in as root because the terminal is not identified as a terminal which is authorized to do so. I can only log on as a regular user. The problem is supposed to be solved if I add the "ptys" line to my /etc/securettys file right ? Wrong .. there is something else that restricts my terminal from login in as root. I do not like to do that at all (logging as root to the server using VNC) but I need to do exactly that.
