Hello everyone,

I've been using VNC for quite a while to view my PC on my Sun Ultra60 system.
Recently, I decided to take the plunge to fully "virtual" desktop. I want to
run a VNC server which I then connect to for all of my work. The idea is that I
should be able to connect to my same desktop no matter where I am--at my
workstation, in someone else's cube, or from my home PC.

I've managed to get vncserver running w/ CDE and to connect to it from a either
a current CDE or a failsafe window in full screen mode. Great! It looks just
like my normal desktop. However, it doesn't quite act like my normal desktop.
The special function keys for X no longer work--Stop, Again, Props, Undo, Front,
Copy, Open, Paste, Find, and Cut. None of them work. The function keys also
generate funky characters in an Xterm window.

So currently, my dream of the virtual desktop is flawed. I am able to do all
the virtual connections that I want, but I give up some functionality to do it.
Namely, the ability to use these special keys. Does anyone out there know how
to get this functionality back?
