HI Although I have been using VNC for sometime now, I've recently expanded how I am using it to a number of NT workstations and server. All of which are NT4 SP6a and minimum 128M RAM lowest CPU is 336Mhz PII.
Your query prompted me to look into this as I have been experiencing some slow responses. YES 100% CPU utilization!!! Surprise! Surprise!. WinVnc.exe is the offender. This might be of some help to you. I've been monitoring CPU utilization and changing the VNC properties to find the best combination for me. Setting fullscreen polling "ON" is the worst. I have settled for on switching only 2. See the screenshot. Hope this is of some help:) Rgds Serik ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ellis Golub" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Timothy Latshaw" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2001 9:45 PM Subject: Re: high CPU utilization > Hi -- > > Use the NT Task Manager to find out what process is using all the cpu cycles. > It is not usually WinVNC.
