1) Are you sure your networking and routing is properly set up? Can you
reach the server on other ports? (HTTP, FTP, SSH, Ping, etc.)

2) You could try downloading the latest vncviewer from
uk.research.att.com/vnc (I think). If it's not there, Google for it.
IIRC, RH7.2 includes a funky nonstandard KDE/QT viewer, which is okay,
but I wouldn't know how to troubleshoot it. The standard one is rather
ugly, but it does the job.
