some more information concerning the great xfree vnc.so module from neoware which should make it possible to shadow "real x server displays" with the vnc viewer. i said "should" because i could only get it running on the linux based neoware thin client computers. but it works a lot(!) faster than the hexonet x0rfbgrabber.
here the release notes from neoware: http://www.neoware.com/docs/release_notes/nte_12_rmshadow.pdf the binary vnc.so module can be downloaded from http://www.neolinux.org/downloads/snapins/22/matrox_snapin.tgz yes the file is really called matrox_snapin.tgz :) in the matrox_snapin.tgz archive there is another archive called hi_res.tgz. you can find the vnc.so file under /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/ in the hi_res.tgz archive. i've tried to put this file into my own xfree lib/modules directory and added the load "vnc.so" statement to my xf86config file, but did not manage to get a vnc connection after starting the xserver. if someone on the list gets this beast running - please let me know! cheers, pet -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
