Hello all,

I'd like to announce to the vnc community the first beta release of
DirectVNC. It is an implementation of a vnc client which runs directly
on the linux framebuffer device with no need for an X server. It does so
using the hardware accelerated DirectFB abstraction layer.

It is intended as an improved replacement for the svgalib based
implementation (svnc) which basically provides the same functionality.

This initial release is fully useable and I'd appreciate it if people
try it out and give me feedback. More information and tarballs as well
as RedHat/Mandrake rpms of directvnc and the DirectFB library are
available at:

Thank you,

Till Adam
