First of all, SSH1 does not support port forwarding. You need SSH2 for
that. Second, use the "-1" switch to force protocol version 1. That
should alleviate your problem, but SSH1 is useless for your needs. You
can't have your cake and eat it too. :) Nag your sysadmin to upgrade
SSH. If you can't do that, install it in your home directory.
