Hi, VNC server is running on display 1 on a SuSE 7.1 linux box. VNC client runs on win2k box, but when I contact the server, I only get X without xterm, kde, etc.
Help, please?!? TIA. Greetz, Wout My apologies if this question has been raised before, but I couldn't find it in the archives. Here's part of the output (sapwas has IP 10.0.0.2): wout@sapwas:/usr/X11R6/bin > vncserver -name bla New 'bla' desktop is sapwas:1 Starting applications specified in /home/wout/.vnc/xstartup Log file is /home/wout/.vnc/sapwas:1.log wout@sapwas:~/.vnc > cat sapwas\:1.log 17/02/02 13:00:34 Xvnc version 3.3.3r1 17/02/02 13:00:34 Copyright (C) AT&T Laboratories Cambridge. 17/02/02 13:00:34 All Rights Reserved. 17/02/02 13:00:34 See http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc for information on VNC 17/02/02 13:00:34 Desktop name 'bla' (sapwas:1) 17/02/02 13:00:34 Protocol version supported 3.3 17/02/02 13:00:34 Listening for VNC connections on TCP port 5901 17/02/02 13:00:34 Listening for HTTP connections on TCP port 5801 17/02/02 13:00:34 URL http://sapwas:5801 17/02/02 13:00:51 Got connection from client 10.0.0.4 17/02/02 13:00:51 Protocol version 3.5 17/02/02 13:00:51 Ignoring minor version mismatch 17/02/02 13:00:53 Pixel format for client 10.0.0.4: 17/02/02 13:00:53 8 bpp, depth 8 17/02/02 13:00:53 true colour: max r 7 g 7 b 3, shift r 0 g 3 b 6 17/02/02 13:00:53 no translation needed 17/02/02 13:00:53 Using hextile encoding for client 10.0.0.4 17/02/02 13:00:53 rfbProcessClientNormalMessage: ignoring unknown encoding type 3 wout@sapwas:~/.vnc > xterm -display 10.0.0.2:1 Xlib: connection to "10.0.0.2:1.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server xterm Xt error: Can't open display: 10.0.0.2:1 wout@sapwas:~/.vnc > xterm xterm Xt error: Can't open display: 10:0.0 _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
