Have been using an older version of VNC where you start up with 'startvnc 1
1' and it works just fine and brings up a full screen session using the dtwm
manager. I do not need to also keep the telnet session running that started
vnc. Have recently installed the version 3.3.3r2 and am running on Solaris 7
as the server with Win2000 as the viewer and have hit the following problem.

Telnet into the server as root and start up Xvnc using 'vncserver :1'.
Application starts fine and I can then start up the vncviewer from my PC and
get the dtwm manager in a full screen display. The telnet session is still
running.

When I exit from the telnet session it kills the dtwm window manager and
leaves me with a grey screen. The only way to recover it is to telnet back
into the server, kill and restart the vncserver but leave the telnet session
open.

I've tried the mailing lists but can't see nothing like this and modifying
/.vnc/xstartup to include a path for /usr/dt/bin but nothing seems to work.
The window manager does not survive the exit of the telnet session. Has
anybody seen this or have an answer to this issue.

Henry Meleg
