Hi all, I am not able to use a VNC viewer on a Win98 machine to access a VNC server on a Win2000 machine. At the Win98 client side, after I key in the IP address of the Win2000 server machine, I get an "Invalid Protocol" message, without asking for the password.
How do I correct this? Or can it be corrected? For your information, I can do it the opposite way, that is to connect to a Win98 VNC server from a Win2000 viewer. The version of VNC that I am using for both machine is Windows 9x/2000/NT (Intel Win32). Thanks. Well the network in our house is relaitvely secure, because the switches are locked in a seperate room and only 2 people have the key to this room. So I don't think, that there is any danger around here. - -- Bye, Patrick Cornelissen http://www.P-C-Software.de ICQ:15885533 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 11:26:09 -0600 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Security Holes If you can get to a key board you can sniff a hub/switch or un secured router. Well, I guess, I should block outgoing Datatransfers for VNC over the I-Net and add logging capability to vnc. I want VNC to log authentification attempts. I will download the sources and include these changes by myself. - -- Bye, Patrick Cornelissen http://www.P-C-Software.de ICQ:15885533 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Feb 2002 20:33:48 -0500 From: "Ellis Golub" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: sgi compile error: libvnc.a Greg-- Look at http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/platforms.html#sgi Also, in the "useful notes", there is a typo: #define XvncRelease \"3r2"\ should read #define XvncRelease \"3r2\" Good Luck! I would like to pass keyboard events to my Application from my main program. I have a main program that uses CreateProcess() to create a New Process "A"(like acrobat.exe or calc.exe), also my main program should be able to simulate certian keyboard events and pass them to the New Process"A". I tried: Enumerate the windows and get the HWND of the client window. I then use SendMessage(hWnd, WM_KEYDOWN, 68, 1L); However the event is not simulated in the window of "A". How does VNC do that, it does something similar, if i am right..
