Thanks. That was a good idea. I am thinking of running Xvnc on a sun box and
on VMS setting the display to the sun
on vms
export DISPLAY=sunbox:1
and then running the xapplication. This will solve my problem.

I cannot recal if there is a port. I have seen VMS displays on a vncviewer
with the next construction:

Desktop machine with whatever OS to run vncviewer, unix (linux) machine to
run `vncserver -query <vmshost>`. This gives a vms login session (decsession
?) at the vms machine.

I cannot reproduce the above setup, the machine did not survive Y2K. I only
recall that the vms machine needs to have tcp/ip configured an that it
works.
