Hi everybody,
This was passed on to me today. There should be plenty of people here who
will be interested in it... particularly Steve Guynup. (Hi Steve, hope you
can sort out your firewall problems in time for this.)
Cheers,
- Miriam

Virtual Worlds in Formal and Informal Education
May 20-21, 1999 at Cornell University, UC Santa Cruz and in Cyberspace
The Cornell Theory Center, in collaboration with VLearn, Active Worlds, and
Outer Worlds, along with master builders, educators, and dreamers around
the planet, is hosting the first official VLearn event on May 20 and 21.
The workshop, Virtual Worlds in Formal and Informal Education, will feature
a keynote by Digigardener himself, as well as talks by critics, designers,
researchers, and educators. Over the two days, participants will have the
opportunity to hear the ideas and experiences of early users of virtual
worlds to create and facilitate education. There will also be tours and
panel presentations by students working with the Active Worlds environment.
